What is the difference from the addresses my automated tests use?

The address format is the same. An inbox you create in the dashboard shows up in the web viewer and keeps mail for 7 days on Free, 30 days on Starter, 90 days on Pro. Mail to an address you never created is read over the API only and kept 1 day.

Can anyone who knows the address read the mail?

No. Inboxes are private: mail is shown only after you sign in to your team's dashboard, or to a request with your team's API key.

Can my automated tests read the same inbox?

Yes. A permanent inbox is also available over the API, so a test and a person can check the same email.

How many inboxes can I create?

As many as your scenarios need. What the plan limits is how many emails arrive each month, not the number of addresses.

How it works

Create an inbox in the dashboard and give it a name. Its address is {teamId}.{anytext}@zyntramail.com with the name you chose.
Use the address in your app on staging: sign up, reset a password, trigger the notification you are checking. The email goes through your real email provider.
Open the inbox in the dashboard and read the email: rendered, as text, with its links and attachments.
